Champions League scores: Manchester City fail to beat RB Leipzig. On Wednesday, the first legs of the Champions League round of 16 were completed with Inter defeating Porto 1-0 at home and Manchester City drawing 1-1 at RB Leipzig.
Riyad Mahrez gave City the lead in the first half, but Josko Gvardiol tied the score with a header off a close corner in the second. Manchester City drew 1-1 at RB Leipzig and Last-minute Penalty was Denied Against RB Leipzig.
Yet, a contentious event took place at the Red Bull Arena in the 92nd minute of the exciting match. After an aerial pass seemed to hit Benjamin Henrichs’ hand inside the penalty area, City was about to launch their final effort. The decision to not give the visitors a last-second penalty by the referee and VAR was not well received by the away fans, who expressed their ire on social media.
